In this tutorial, we will go over how to use the period lock feature which serves to lock in transactions in the ledger once they are reconciled. This method prevents accidental tampering of past transaction data.

Step 1

Start by making sure you run a calculation to ensure the data on the reports page is updated.

Step 2

Head to the Reports tab.

Step 3

Click the Lock Period button and confirm to lock the period of your recent calculation. (NOTE: If you have deviations, the Lock Period button will not be available to activate. Resolve the deviations first.)

If you head back to your Transactions tab, you will notice the leftmost column showing the lock symbol. Your transactions for the period are now locked.

Follow the instructions below if you need to unlock the period.

Step 1

Head to your Portfolio Settings.

Step 2

Head to the Locked Transactions settings.

Step 3

If you hover your cursor in the area of the locked transaction period, a three-dotted button will appear, click it to delete the locked period.

Your transactions are now unlocked.
