Lock/Unlock Transactions

In this tutorial, we will review how to use transaction locks to secure key parts of data. Transaction locks are used to prevent any changes to important transactions within your ledger.

Previously, locks could only be applied to transactions that were a part of a successful calculation. Now, you can use filters and selections within the Transaction table to lock sets of transactions. See the steps below on how to make use of this feature.

Locking Transactions:

Step 1
Navigate to your Transactions page.

Step 2

Isolate your desired transactions using filters, or by navigating the table. Then, select the transactions you wish to lock.

Step 3

Within the Bulk Edit menu, select Lock Transactions. This will provide a confirmation prompt before the lock is applied.

Step 4
Confirm the lock from within the prompt. Your transactions table should refresh and your transactions are now locked.

Step 5
Your transactions are now locked!

Unlocking Transactions:

Since transactions cannot be individually edited once locked, unlocking them is done from within the Portfolio Settings.

Step 1

Navigate to your Portfolio Settings

Step 2

Select Locked Transactions from within the Portfolio Settings menu.

Step 3

Identify from the table the locked transaction set you’d like to unlock. Click on the vertical menu and select Delete to remove the lock.

Step 4
Your transactions are now unlocked! Note: your transaction table may need a refresh to reflect this new unlocked state.

Remove All Transaction Locks:

In cases where locked transactions have become orphaned from their filter set, or simply there is no desire to have any locked transaction, the Remove All button can be used. Remove All will unlock any and all transactions from within your portfolio. It will also delete all previous locked filter sets. Remove All can also be found in the Portfolio Settings, Locked Transactions page.
