Locking the Transaction Period

Locking transactions in the ledger once they are reconciled can prevent accidental tampering of past transaction data.

Locking Transactions

  1. From the side panel, navigate to the Transactions page.

  2. Click Calculate to run a calculation. This will ensure the data on the reports page is updated. Learn more.

  3. From the side panel, navigate to the Reports page.
    ​

  4. Click on the Lock Period button and confirm when prompted.

    Note: The Lock Period button will be disabled if your ledger has deviations. See How to Resolve Transaction Deviations to learn more.

  5. Navigate back to the Transactions page to verify. The transactions for the period in the Reports tab will be locked with the leftmost column displaying a locked symbol.

Unlocking Transactions

  1. From the side panel, click on your entity's name, then select Entity Settings.

  2. Select Locked Transactions.
    ​


    ​

  3. Click on Remove all to unlock the ledger transactions.
    ​


    ​

  4. Click Yes to confirm your action when prompted. Your ledger transactions will now be unlocked.
    ​
