How to Automatically Ignore Spam Tokens in Cryptoworth

If you have a large number of spam tokens, you can group them and automate their classification as Ignored to prevent them from impacting your financial reports. This guide walks you through the process.

1. Download and fill out the CSV template

  1. From the side panel, navigate to More Options and select Address Book.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow and select Bulk Import.

  3. Click on the link and download the CSV template.

  4. In your CSV, fill in:

    • Address: Spam token contract addresses

    • Crypto ID: Use -1 for spam tokens

    • First Name / Company Name: Required

    • Address Type: Either personal or organizational

2. Import your CSV into Cryptoworth

Once your CSV sheet is filled and saved, perform the following.

  1. From the side panel, navigate to More Options and select Address Book.

  2. Click on the dropdown arrow and select Bulk Import.

  3. Click Browse, select the completed CSV file, and click Import.

  4. Click on the dropdown arrow, then select Add Group.

  5. Enter a name for the group (i.e. "Spam Tokens").

  6. Under Group Member Addresses, search for and select the spam token addresses you imported via CSV in Step 1.

  7. Click Add Group to apply the changes.

3. Set Up an Automation Rule

You’ll need to create a classification rule to automatically classify and ignore all transactions linked to the spam token address book group.

Prerequisites: Before proceeding, make sure that you’ve already set up a “Spam Token” classification in your Chart of Accounts.

  1. From the side panel, click on More Options, then select Automations.

  2. Click on the + Classification Automation button.

  3. Select Entity and click Next.

  4. Complete the following fields.

    1. Automation Name: Enter a name for the automation (i.e. "Filtering Spam Tokens").

    2. Automation Description: Optionally, enter a description.

  5. Criteria 1: Set the condition that triggers the automation.

    1. Add a condition based on Contract address group, and select the Spam tokens group you created earlier.

The automation trigger will be applied for transactions in any one of the contract addresses contained within your Spam tokens group.

  6. Criteria 2: Configure the action that occurs when the trigger conditions are met.

    1. Assign the classification rule to the appropriate classification: Select the Spam Token classification from your chart of accounts.

  7. Click Next.

  8. Review the trigger and the action, then click Confirm to activate the classification rule. Your automation is now live.

The spam token group will now be automatically classified and ignored.
