In this tutorial, explain how to import your existing chart of accounts onto Cryptoworth.

Importing your Chart of Accounts

  1. From the side panel, click on More Options, then select Chart of Accounts.

  2. Click on the arrow icon at the top right corner and select Bulk Import.

  3. On the import page, please read the full description and instructions before downloading and using the CSV template for importing your chart of accounts.

If you are migrating your chart of accounts from your own CSV/Excel file, make sure to input into the Cryptoworth CSV template's proper format.

  4. Click on the link to download the CSV template.

  5. Open the CSV template and prepare the Chart of Accounts (See section below for more details).

  6. Once completed, click on Browse to upload the CSV file.

  7. Click Import.

Preparing the Chart of Accounts

On the CSV template, you have the classification IDs in the first column that will be generated upon import. The Parent ID column should have the classification ID inputted of the Parent classification associated to the child classification indicated in the "Level(parent/child) column.

The "Type" column is where the account needs to be identified. The chart of accounts to choose from is listed in the import page and is the following below.

  • Accounts Receivable

  • Bank

  • Deferred Expense

  • Fixed Asset

  • Other Asset

  • Other Current Asset

  • Unbilled Receivable

  • Equity

  • Costs of Goods Sold

  • Expense

  • Other Expense

  • Income

  • Other Income

  • Accounts Payable

  • Credit Card

  • Deferred Revenue

  • Long Term Liability

  • Other Current Liability

Decide the Non-taxability and Ignored characteristics of the classifications by using 1 to define "Yes" and 0 to define "No" for both columns.

Afterwards, your template will be ready to be imported. See a filled out example below the template screenshot.

  • Once your chart of accounts and classifications are migrated onto the CSV template, import the CSV. Head back to the Classifications page by clicking the "Close" button and your chart of accounts have now been synced.

Removing Chart of Accounts

To remove or rollback the Chart of Accounts classification, perform the following.

Note: This will unclassified all transactions that are already classified using the Chart of Accounts.

  1. From the side panel, click on More Options, then select Chart of Accounts.

  2. Click on the arrow icon at the top right corner and select Purge Chart of Accounts.

  3. Enter the phrase "delete all accounts" in the text field to confirm.

  4. Click on Delete.
