In crypto accounting, it's common to encounter duplicate or fragmented transactions—especially when importing data from blockchain wallets or exchanges. The Transaction Merge feature in Cryptoworth helps you consolidate related entries into a single, clean record. This is particularly useful for eliminating clutter when multiple line items represent the same event.

For instance, you could merge two transactions with identical timestamps made on the Ethereum network onto a specific wallet connection.

Video Tutorial below:

Download the Template

  1. From the side panel, navigate to the Transactions tab.

  2. Click on the dropdown arrow, then select Transaction Merge.

  3. On the Transaction Merge page, read the on-screen instructions and click on the highlighted link to download the CSV template..

Get the Required Data

  • Connection_Name (Recommended): The exact name of the wallet or account connection (case-sensitive and unique). Connection names are always unique and cannot be duplicated.

  • Connection_Id (Required if not using name): To get the Connection ID:

    • Navigate to the Accounts page from the side panel.

    • Click on the dropdown arrow, then select Export Connections and click on Export. You will receive a CSV file containing the details of all connected wallets and accounts including their connection IDs.

  • Connection_Type: Either "Wallet" or "Account" (for exchanges or third-party services).

  • Date Time (UTC): Timestamp of each transaction. Use a transaction CSV export to copy these. To do this:

    • Navigate to the Transactions page from the side panel.

    • Using the filters, filter the transactions you want to export. Using checkboxes, select the transactions to be exported. To select all transactions use the corner-most checkbox.

    • Once selected, click Export, select CSV and click on Export again to download the file.

  • Crypto Id: The identifier for the cryptocurrency within Cryptoworth

    • Refer to CSV transaction you exported to retrieve the Crypto ID or refer to Finding the Crypto ID guide to learn more.

  • Type: Transaction type: BUY, SELL, SEND, or RECEIVE.

  • Amount_One, Amount_One_Type, Amount_Two, Amount_Two_Type:

    • The Amount_One, Amount_One_Type, Amount_Two, and Amount_Two_Type should be the same cryptocurrency amounts and type unless a BUY or SELL is occurring which requires the entry of the fiat amount on one side.

  • Tag (Optional but recommended): Helps with classification and readability.

  • Additional optional columns are available by scrolling right in the template.

Upload the Merge File

  1. Return to the Transaction Merge page.

  2. Click on Browse to Import and add your completed transaction merge file.

  3. Click Import to finalize the operation.
