The Data Merge feature on the Transactions page allows you to override values (such as Cost Basis or Sale Price) or apply markups to existing transactions—ideal for custom scenarios like over-the-counter (OTC) deals.
What You Can Do with Data Merge
Override the Cost Basis and Sale Price on existing transactions.
Add markups to transaction values.
Add or update classification, label, or description.
Perform efficient updates on large transaction sets using CSV.
Download the CSV template
From the side panel, navigate to the Transactions tab.
Click on the dropdown arrow, then select Data Merge.
Download and fill out the CSV template from the link on the Data Ops: Data Merge page.
Key Columns to Populate:
Internal ID (Required): A unique transaction identifier found in Cryptoworth. By inputting this unique number into the Internal ID column, the system will know to apply the data merge into the correct transactions.
Transaction Hash, Tag, Currency Code: Copy values from the transaction in Cryptoworth (unless you're overriding).
Cost Basis and Sale Price: Enter new values to override existing data. You will need to populate the Cost Basis and Sale Price columns with the desired change.
Classification ID, Label, and Description (Optional): Update or retain existing details.
Getting the required transaction data
Filter for your desired transactions in the Transactions tab.
Click the Info icon on a transaction line to find its Internal ID.
Copy the transaction's ID and other details into your CSV.
Populating the CSV
For each transaction:
Column 1: Internal ID
Column 2 (Optional): Transaction Hash
Column 3: Transaction Type
Column 4: Tag
Column 5: Currency Code
Column 6–n: Add Cost Basis, Sale Price, Classification ID, Label, and Description as needed.
Example: For a MANA send event, if the default cost basis is $4.80 but you want to set it to $12.00, enter that new value under Cost Basis and Sale Price in the CSV.
At this point, you can utilize the Cost Basis or Sale Price columns to override existing values on Cryptoworth. For example, your wallet transactions are showing a cost basis based on fair market values at the timestamp of the transaction. The calculated cost basis of the MANA transaction example below for the SEND event is $4.80 USD.
With the data merge ability, we can alter the cost basis in order to have a value different than the fair market value.
In the CSV template , we deleted the second row as we will only be merging data into one transaction for this example. We will be setting the Cost Basis and Sale Price to $12.
If you have an existing classification and would like to classify the transaction using the CSV, you will need the reference number ID from the classification for the column. You can add a label and description for their respective columns if desired.
If you have many transactions to merge data into, repeat the same operation for each transaction efficiently by copying the data from a CSV transaction export.
